中国科学技术信息研究所10月30日发布的《2025年中国科技论文统计报告》显示，我国热点论文数量世界占比首次过半，达53.2%，世界排名保持第一位；高被引论文数量保持世界第二位，与美国的差距逐渐缩小。
China for the first time contributed to more than half of the world's hot papers, accounting for 53.2 percent of the total and maintaining its top global ranking, according to a statistical report released on October 30, 2025. The country also maintained its position as the world's second-largest producer of highly cited papers, closing the gap with the United States, said a report on China's scientific papers output 2025 released by the Institute of Scientific and Technical Information of China (ISTIC).

热点论文是指近两年间发表的论文在统计周期内得到大量引用，且被引用次数进入本学科前1‰的论文。高被引论文是指各学科论文近十年被引用次数处于世界前1%的论文。
《2025年中国科技论文统计报告》显示，截至2025年8月，我国的热点论文数为2342篇，数量比2024年统计时增加了4.6%；美国的热点论文数为1511篇，居世界第二位。我国高被引论文数为76271篇，占世界份额提升至37.41%，与排名第一位的美国仅相差11篇。
按第一作者第一单位统计分析的结果显示，2024年，我国发表高水平国际期刊论文15.49万篇，占世界总量的39.2%，被引用次数为101.12万次，论文发表数量和被引用次数均排在世界第一位。我国高水平科研论文的数量持续增长，大部分统计指标已位居世界前列，论文评价从“重数量”到“重质量”转变正取得积极成效。

当前，新一轮科技革命和产业变革突飞猛进，学科交叉融合不断发展，科学研究范式发生深刻变革，科学技术和经济社会发展加速渗透融合，基础研究转化周期明显缩短，国际科技竞争向基础前沿前移。应对国际科技竞争、实现高水平自立自强，推动构建新发展格局、实现高质量发展，迫切需要我们加强基础研究，从源头和底层解决关键技术问题。
At present, a new round of sci-tech revolution and industrial transformation is advancing by leaps and bounds, interdisciplinary integration is growing, the paradigm of scientific research is undergoing profound changes, the integration of science and technology with economic and social development is accelerating, the application cycle of basic research is significantly shortened, and international competition in basic research is moving to the forefront. To cope with international sci-tech competition, achieve greater self-reliance, foster a new development pattern, and promote high-quality development, there is an urgent need to strengthen basic research and address key technologies from the source and from the bottom.
